Leadership

TMCC’s tribal charter established a two tier governance structure. The Tribal Council appoints six-member Board of Trustees selected to represent specific sectors of the community, including businesses, schools, health, etc. These six members of the Board of Trustee have lifetime appointments. The Board of Trustees has four ad hoc members, two from the Tribal Council and two from the Student Senate. The Trustees select a five-member Board of Directors charged with setting institutional policy. The members of both boards are broadly representative of the community and are enrolled members of the Tribe. The Board establishes board policy and direction. The Board of Directors in consultation with the Board of Trustees appoints the President who is responsible for the day to day operations of the college. The President appoints staff members to the President’s Administrative Council, who function as advisors to the President in college wide decision making.
