The office of Institutional Research, Assessment, and Accreditation strives to conduct meaningful assessment tied to key student indicators. Data captured from such assessments facilitates evidence-based decisions, faculty and staff input, and the development of a culture of assessment at TMCC; such practices contribute to “continuous improvement of student learning” and increased engagement and success for all campus units. Below are a few artifacts of assessment at TMCC.

Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS)
As a college that participates in federal student financial aid programs, TMCC submits information on enrollments, program completions, graduation rates, faculty and staff, finances, institutional prices, and student financial aid. Though this data is reported to IPEDS as a form of compliance, TMCC also uses this data to understand long-term institutional trends on the basic data points tracked. In understanding such trends, TMCC can understand its trajectory for success and its comparison to other institutions. Learn more about IPEDS.

Community College Survey of Student Engagement (CCSSE) and the Community College Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (CCFSSE)

This survey was administered in collaboration with many other participating tribal colleges, which allows for context and understanding between and amongst this unique institution type. Furthermore, this nationally used survey is commonly distributed to thousands of other institutions in the nation, allowing for an additional point of comparison to better understand areas of high engagement and areas in need of focus at TMCC.
