Kathy began her early childhood education on the job. She was first hired by the Native American University Daycare as a caregiver. Through the years she continued to take different roles (caregiver, infant toddlers to toddlers, floor supervisor, Assistant Director to Director) for many years within the Grand Forks Community. Kathy co-wrote a grant directed to the Northeast Area Foundation that funded caregiver training in the Grand Forks Area. Before earning her Bachelor’s Degree, Kathy earned a Child Development Associate by meeting the standards of a competent teacher (artifacts are presented in a portfolio). After having earned her Bachlelor’s, Kathy returned to the Turtle Mountains to teach. In 2004, Kathy was employed with the Turtle Mountain Community College Career and Technical Department as an Early Childhood Instructor.
Kathy Jo Henry earned a Bachelor’s Degree from North Dakota State University and a Master’s Degree from the University of North Dakota and has a Career and Technical Education Teacher Certification from the State of North Dakota.
