Janelle is an Early Childhood Instructor with the Teacher Education Department at TMCC. She joined the department in 2008 as a Project Director for the Professional Development for Elementary Education (PDEE) Program. In the fall of 2009 she moved to her new position as an instructor. Janelle has taught both junior high and high school Family and Consumer Science classes. She has worked with Head Start and Public Preschool to deliver programs for students, parents, and staff. She also has nine years of experience working for the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Extension Service as an Extension Educator with a focus on youth development and parent education.

Janelle earned a B.A.in Home Economics Education from Concordia College in Moorhead MN, and an M.S. in Child Development/Family Science from NDSU. Her areas of interest include child development, differentiated instruction, and family economics.
