Ron Carpenter has sixteen years of teaching experience in higher education. He has taught nearly every writing course imaginable, as well as American, British, African-American, and Native American literature courses. As the Assessment Coordinator, he is responsible for ensuring that every student is tested as many times as possible while here at TMCC. He tricked his way into a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California Riverside, and since then has been moving to substantially colder climates in order to avoid traffic lights and human contact. While at the University of Utah, he earned a Master of Arts in American Studies and wrote a book examining Native American women’s autobiography. Someday, it may be published. He has spent far too much time surfing, floating down rivers, and fishing. He eventually received his Ph.D. in British and American Literature from the University of Utah in 2005. He and his fiancée Susie Laducer are expecting a baby boy in January 2008.
