Cynthia Jelleberg began her teaching career in the public school sector along with private classes for young children through adult ages. Cynthia attained a B.S. in Education and M. Ed in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota and has been actively involved in regional, state, and national educational issues. She helped create the Turtle Mountain Community College Fine Arts Program in 1999, and through the years, many TMCC art students have won awards sponsored by the American Indian Higher Education Consortium and the American Indian College Fund. The Turtle Mountain Community College and Cynthia were presented with the 2007 Governor’s Award for Arts in Education for their nurturing and strengthening of the ARTS within the reservation community and beyond.
