Vision Statement
The Turtle Mountain Community College Library is committed to excellence in service and to provide a learning center for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and the surrounding communities where access to information encourages life-long learning.
Mission Statement and Objectives
The mission of the library is a dual service library that serves both as an academic library for TMCC and a public library for the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. The library aspires to fulfill this mission by:
- providing informational support for the TMCC general studies, vocational education programs, and for scholarly research;
- providing informational resources that will empower the creation of an environment in which the cultural and social heritage of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa can be brought to bear throughout the curriculum;
- providing administration, faculty, and student body with the informational tools involved in exerting leadership within the community and providing service to it;
- providing the Belcourt community with informational resources that will empower them to protect their rights, enrich their lives, and bolster their cultural identity;
- providing recreational materials such as fiction, picture books, etc. that will increase the clientele’s richness and enjoyment of life;
- providing a stimulating environment which encourages a love of reading and learning in tandem with the mission statement of the college.
