Wannetta is a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa: a Pembina descendent. Wannetta is currently a doctorial student in education leadership. She received her MBA and a Master of Science in Management degrees from the University of Mary, Bismarck, ND; her Bachelor of Science degree from Minot State University, Minot, ND; and an Associate of Arts degree from Turtle Mountain Community College, Belcourt, ND. She is currently employed by TMCC in the position of Sponsored Programs Officer. She and her husband, Edward, have one daughter and son-in-law, Freddie and Angelique and two grandchildren, Tygre` and Tyriece.
