Stacie Blue is the environmental science coordinator and project director for the ATSDR Program to Build Environmental Health Capacity with Tribal Colleges and Universities, which is in its fourth year of a five year agreement. The main purpose of the Environmental Science Coordinator is to develop curriculum for an A.S. Environmental Public Health (EPH) Program and Geographic Information System (GIS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) certificate program.
Responsibilities also include procuring funding to support development and implementation of the EPH and GIS/GPS programs, teaching two courses per semester, and accomplishing tasks required of both faculty and staff. Stacie, along with the support of Turtle Mountain Community College and Red Feather Development Group of Bozeman, MT, worked to develop an 1800sq. ft. straw bale building with radiant floor heating and solar panels to be used as a classroom and meeting space for TMCC and as an example of an alternative design that works in North Dakota.
Stacie has earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of North Dakota and a Master’s of Science degree from Montana State University.
